# Harddisk

A hard disk is a computer component whose main purpose is to store data and information. Nowadays, hard drives have a very high capacity and the main drive is becoming the Terabyte instead of the original [Gigabyte](https://www.bartvisions.cz/en/slovnikovy-pojem/gigabyte-2/). The hard drive can be placed in a slot inside the PC, but external hard drives are no longer an exception.
