# Pixel

A pixel is the basic and smallest unit of a digital image, a bitmap graphic. Basically, it is every single indivisible point of a particular color on a monitor. The collection of pixels then forms the overall image we see. The individual pixels are not arranged randomly, in fact they form a precise grid so that each point can be precisely specified and identified.
