# Pop-up window

Pop-up – often an advertisement that overlays the content of the web page (or program) you are viewing. A pop-up ad often forces you to click on its content to see the content you are interested in. While this is still a common feature of programs and especially websites nowadays, it is also very user-unfriendly and search engines are slowly starting to put websites with this kind of advertising at a disadvantage.
